EPISODE SUMMARY

In this episode of Black Businesses Matter,I had the pleasure of conversing with Jordan Nash, the founder of The Squared Paper Co. Despite facing challenging circumstances stemming from her parents' divorce, Jordan utilized school as a means of distraction. As an adult, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery, finding solace in the act of journaling. Jordan firmly believes that self-reflection is paramount and can be achieved through journaling. She also reflects on a pivotal moment in her life - the passing of her brother - and how she chose to process this event.

Jordan shares the story of how The Squared Paper Co. came to fruition. While working a full-time job, she transformed her graphic design hobby into a successful business, which provided her with the financial stability to launch an e-commerce journaling business. Jordan highlights the significance of discipline when balancing a full-time job and managing a business. She conducted extensive research and employed TikTok to pitch her business to potential distributors, eventually landing her journals on the shelves of Barnes & Noble.

Jordan explains the ethos of her business and the motivation behind its structures. Her goal is to foster a more inclusive and mentally healthy society by breaking down barriers and spreading awareness through her journals and ADHD-friendly planners.

If you want to learn more about reflection and mental health and the importance of journaling in your wellness journey this is the episode for you.
